Degradation of high concentration starch and biocathode autotrophic denitrification using photo microbial fuel cell

In the study, a dual-chamber photo MFC was constructed with photosynthetic bacteria consortium PB-Z and heterotrophic nitrifier C16 as anode cathode inoculant, respectively. The electron released from starch degradation in by transferred to cathode, which utilized nitrifying realize autotrophic denitrification. Lower resistance more conducive transfer pollutants removal. Comparing natural light, continuous light greatly promoted denitrification cathode. Under external of 500 ?, high concentration degraded COD removal efficiency reached up 88.45% within 12 d, nitrate 95.8% removed 4 d C16. study provides some enlightenment reference for application field wastewater treatment.
